Remo Stars: History and Evolution

Remo Stars FC traces its roots back to 2004 when it was founded as FC Dender in Lagos, Nigeria. Initially, it served as a grassroots football club, providing a platform for youth development and recreational activities in the Ketu area. Over time, the team’s engagement in sporting activities grew, leading to empowerment opportunities for local youths. In 2010, FC Dender earned promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL), where they played at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. However, a rebranding was on the horizon.

Remo Stars: The Rebranding

In 2011, the club relocated from Lagos to Ikenne in Remo Land, Ogun State. With this move, FC Dender transformed into REMO STARS Sports Club. The name change reflected their status as the shining stars of Remo Land. Under the management of Osho Fatai, the team played with an identity, adopting a style of football reminiscent of FC Barcelona’s “Sugar Concept.” Their scintillating performance against eventual champions Enyimba Int FC in the 2013 FA Cup caught everyone’s attention.
