Kano Pillars fc fans club have hailed the decision by Kano state government to sack the interim management and board members of the NPFL club side.
Th chairman of the fans club, Rabiu Kawo in a chat with this reporter said the axing of the interim management has gone down well with the appetite of Kano football fans.
According to him, the marching orders that sent the management packing was a decision in the right direction.
He added that, the club will now breath a sigh of relief and inhale fresh air ,thus paving way for the reorganization that will chart the route to furthering the prosperity of the club.
Kawo then called for a change in approach by the state government towards how it handles the affairs of the club, saying Kano state government must look deep in wards in all ramifications of the decision making process, involving the club , alongside ensuring it carries out wide consultation at all times .
He said “the state government has to consider the importance to appointment technocrats to run the club, adding that “ those who feel they are too politically powerful to relate with all stakeholders have no business in running the club.”
He revealed that lack of synergy amongst stakeholders was one of the fore challenges that has continue to assist in the dwindling of the club’s fortunes .
Reacting to the current developments in the club, a staunch follower of the club, an unrepentant supporter of the club , Dan Bachirawa, said ” Kano state government should not repeat the same mistake of appointing a quantum number of people as board members.
“Kano Pillars suffered from the over politicizing of the affairs of the club, the board just sacked had over 10 members and they all acted and felt they were too powerful, because of their political connection.
“Kano Pillars fc is was one of the biggest football clubs in Nigeria and Africa, it should be treated and managed like one, it is not an amateur club side, our state government should keep politics aside and do the right thing, in this situation, that is how we can get it right.” Dan Bachirawa posit.
It would be recalled that last Friday, kano state commissioner of youths and sports, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso had announced the sacking of the club management and board led by Babangida Little.
