The club was initially owned by the Egyptian branch of The Coca-Cola Company until 2021. Under the name Coca-Cola FC, they achieved promotion to the 2021–22 Egyptian Premier League for the first time. Subsequently, Future company for sports investments acquired the club in September 2021, renaming it Future FC. In their debut Premier League season, Future FC finished fifth and qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup. Despite a group stage exit due to a registration error, they won the inaugural Egyptian League Cup in 2022–23. In August 2023, the club underwent another ownership change, becoming Modern Future FC. Finally, on July 2, 2024, the club officially adopted the name Modern Sport FC, approved by relevant authorities and sanctioned by the Egyptian Olympic Committee2.
