CAF instructor, Henry Abiodun bags professional doctorate qualification
Nigerian born CAF instructor and football education expert Henry Abiodun, has obtained an professional doctorate in Sports Coaching Education from El Roi London University.
According to H ad B official media sources, the qualification was awarded in recognition of his academic research, professional practice, and positive role in football coaching development.
H and B said “ The doctorate certificate, which was given to him on Monday, June 1st, 2026, was carried out through a five-part structure that combined extensive analysis of literature, small-scale research, applied research, professional practice implementation, and a critical reflective account.
Adding that , Dr Henry Abiodun reviewed literature on football fitness and conducted a small-scale research project assessing the “8 Agents of Ball Possession in Elite Youth Football”. In his applied research study, he examined the effect of transpersonal fitness intervention on team cohesion, collective efficacy, and ball possession retention quality among U-17 football players in Akure, Nigeria.
“An important component of the doctorate was a report of professional practice, “Implementing the 8-Agent Framework for Football Performance”, which took a closer look at “Coach Education, Academy Development, and Sports Governance in Nigeria from 2024 to 2026”.
“ This report reflected on Dr Abiodun’s experiences at H&B Global Sports’ The Modern-Day Football Coach 1, 2 and 3 programmes; his leading of the Coach Henry Football Fitness Camp Internship programme; his participation in the NFF/CAF B License Course in Abuja; and his contribution to the Niger Delta Games in Edo State.”
“Developing and Implementing the 8-Agent Framework for Integrated Football Preparation in Nigeria”, which emphasises the importance of integrating constant research, coaching education, football fitness, and player development into football.”
Speaking after receiving the doctorate, Coach Henry Abiodun said:
“This doctorate is more than a personal achievement. It’s a reflection of years of commitment to coaching education, football fitness, and player development.” He added, “My roles as an NFF instructor and a CAF coach educator inspired me to specifically embark on a professional doctorate in sports coaching education.”
