West Ham coach, Graham Potter faces sack
West Ham United’s gaffer Graham Potter’s reign at the London Stadium is on the cliff, as the sack looms large over the Hammers head coach.
The Englishman has found himself under immense pressure following their dismal start to the season, with heavy defeats to Chelsea and Tottenham at home leaving them in 18th place. A 3-0 victory away at Nottingham Forest gave Potter a brief reprieve, but their disappointing defeat at home to their London rivals Palace on September 20 could convince chairman David Sullivan to wield the axe.
The 50-year-old was appointed in January this year as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui but the Englishman has struggled to get the best out of his squad.
Following their fourth defeat of the season, Potter now has the worst points-per-game average of any manager in the club’s history, with just 0.96 points coming from his 24 games in charge.
That puts him below Lopetegui and even Gianfranco Zola, both of whom oversaw disastrous spells and were sacked within nine months of their respective arrivals.
