NPFL please X-ray the Nassarawa , Rivers fiasco, thumb up CHAN Eagles, finally Methodist Boys Owo poised for YSFON glory
There couldn’t be anyway to x-ray the end of the year’s League headed by Gbenga Elegbeleye and Davison Owunmi than what was said or not said about the Nasarawa – Rivers Match at Lafia Stadium. Bottom line there was an issue that needs an urgent investigation.
However, for those who are familiar with the league twists and turns, it is business as usual. Everyone should look close at all the participants in the fiasco- when a team is gunning for the continent , and a team fighting relegation and impressing the State Governor. Fingers crossed .
The Super Eagles B brought a respite days ago in Uyo as Ghana was edged out after so much war of words between the coaches of both squad who are keen to make professional statements. The NSC did well for the rare support, and the gift – gifts from the commonwealth anyway, but packaged the Shehu Diiko’s way.
Lots of questions still linger though.
Now the die is cast , a mild smiles on the faces of Nigerians as the NFF is still at a crossroads about a substantive gaffer for the Super Eagles proper. Dateline, time is off the essence as there are no more minnows in the conference of African Football again.
Finally, it looks like Ysfon – Bauchi 25 will finally walk as the green light may have been beamed for the hosting City that the party can start.
It should as , who knows how may talents could emerge to beef up out national teams from the crop of Secondary School players. Nigeria has a history of such talented players from such competitions to global prominence.
Methodist High School, Owo seems poised to glory as well as the other Ondo State dogged fighters from some secondary Schools.
Kudos to Methodist High School’s Sports Committee for it leadership competence and coordination to put MHSO where it belongs in football in Nigeria.
We are keeping hope alive for the year 2025 for table top performances from football with good planning.
Let Mr Governor of Ondo State make Sunshine a priority this time around and do the needful, no fake promises about making the club benefit from the noise about “Ayedatiwa” rides despite a looming Akure Agenda .
We all hope that 2025 will be a good year, with viable outcomes for our sports as fairness and justice remain our major asks from our leaders.
Do away with all opportunists and keep a clean slate for global acceptance and compliance.
