Gov Bago announce plans to construct 25 new stadiums in Niger, Ahmed Fresh applaud moves

The Executive Governor of Niger State, Rt. Hon. Umaru Bago has announced plans by his administration to construct new stadium facilities in all the 25 local governments in the state.
Bago made the disclosure during the final of the 2024 edition of the annual Niger State Governor’s Cup Football Competition, which was staged at the Muhammadu Kagbo Secondary School pitch 2.
According to him, the new stadiums, if constructed would be deployed to use, for nurturing of young sports talents from all nooks and crannies of the state.
He added that the planned moves would be used to divert the minds of the youths in the state away from negative tendencies such as drugs abuse ,other various forms of crimes and social vices.
He disclosed that the pilot project would flag off at Lapai, saying this will serve as an incentive to the crowned champions of the 45th edition of the Governor’s Cup , who won it for the first time in the history of the competition.
The Chairman, Niger State Football Association (NSFA) and Chairman of Chairmen of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ahmed Fresh , in his remarks applaud the state government under Governor Umaru Bago , for massively supporting the successful hosting of the 2024 edition of the tourney .
He further hailed the state government for its provision of logistics and moral support , adding that these were an attestation to the significance importance attached to the promotion and development of sports in the state, under governor Bago.
Our correspondent reports that , Lapai Local Government sunk Lavun Local Government by 3 goals to nil to emerged as the newly crowned champions.
The newly crowned champions carted home the sum of Fifteen Million Naira (N15 Million) , the runners up got Ten Million Naira (N10 Million), cash prize, while the second runners up pocketed Five Million (N5 Million) naira.
Niger State Football Association(NSFA) will also made home with Ten Million (N10 Million) naira largesse accompanied with brand new bus.
