Sports can help grow Nigeria’s economy- Prof Wasiu Afolabi

The president, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, NSN, professor Wasiu Afolabi has stated that sports , if properly utilized could be of crucial essence in growing Nigeria’s economy.
Speaking with journalists at the 54th edition of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, NSN scientific conference in Kano, he said “ if we develop our sports it will grow our economy.”
Prof Wasiu said sports has taken a centre stage in all facets of human daily life activities, aside its importance in human fitness , it could be also deployed as a tool to help grow economic wealth he said.
He called for depth collaboration between stakeholders with the motive to device ways through which the sports sector could be better improved upon with the intent to grow Nigeria’s economy.
