Popular Moroccan sports journalist, Belaid Bouimid dies, aged 66

Moroccan  star journalists and  the  pioneer of press cartoons, Belaïd Bouimid has passed away.

The highly revered Journalist was an  expert on sports, poet and  press cartoons in Morocco.

Belaid passed away last  Monday, September 23, 2024  aged 66.

He is fondly referred  to as the Father of the sports press in Morocco and Africa. A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, he hails from   El Jadida .

He started his career at Al Bayane with Ali Yata, hosted on Radio Mars where he officiated every morning with Lino Baco in Mars Attack and his  columns,  in the daily L’Opinion .
