2026 Concacaf W Championship Preliminary Rosters Revealed, Defending Champions USA vs El Salvador
Concacaf has announced the preliminary rosters for the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, which will take place from November 27 to December 5 at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield, Texas, and Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.
The eight participating national teams – Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, and the United States – have submitted their preliminary rosters ahead of the tournament, which will crown a regional champion and determine Concacaf’s representatives for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 and the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics.
The preliminary rosters have been selected and submitted by each participating Member Association and are published as such. To be eligible to participate in the competition, all players must fully comply with the criteria stipulated in the applicable FIFA player eligibility regulations.
The final 23-player rosters for all eight participating teams will be confirmed ahead of the start of the tournament. Following the final roster submission deadline, outfield players may only be replaced in the event of a serious injury or medical matter up to 24 hours before their team’s first match, subject to Concacaf approval. Goalkeepers may be replaced in the event of a serious injury or medical matter at any time during the competition. All replacements must come from the respective team’s preliminary roster.
The 2026 Concacaf W Championship will kick off with the Quarterfinals at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium on November 27 and 28. The opening round will feature Jamaica against Costa Rica and defending champion United States against El Salvador on Friday, followed by Canada against Panama and Mexico against Haiti on Saturday.
The Quarterfinal matchups and each team’s path to the Final were determined based on the FIFA Women’s Rankings of April 2026, with the eight participating teams seeded 1 through 8 and the highest-ranked team facing the lowest-ranked team in the opening round.
Following the Quarterfinals, the four winners will advance to the Semifinals on December 1 and automatically qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027. The four losing teams will progress to the Play-In on December 2, where they will compete for Concacaf’s two berths in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament.
The four semifinalists will compete at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium on December 1 before the competition moves to Shell Energy Stadium in Houston for the Third-Place Match and Final doubleheader on Saturday, December 5.
In addition to Women’s World Cup qualification, the 2026 Concacaf W Championship will determine Concacaf’s representatives for the 2028 LA Olympic Games Women’s Football Tournament. The two finalists and third-place finisher will secure Olympic berths. Should the United States – already qualified as host of the Olympic Games, as confirmed by FIFA and the IOC – finish among the top three teams, Concacaf’s final Olympic berth will be awarded to the fourth-place finisher.
