45 grassroot clubs will battle for glory in the 7th edition of former president Muhammadu Buhari men’s football competition

The 7th edition of the men’s soccer competition named after Nigeria’s immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari will kick off in a forthright in Daura senatorial district in his home state, Katsina.
Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Katsina state chapter quoted chairman of the organizing committee , Sani Abu Dauda Daura, who visited the former president in his country home had stated that 45 teams will be on parade in the 2024 edition of the competition.
He further noted that , matches will be played across two centres, namely Daura and Kankia, adding that the participating teams are drawn from the 11 local government areas that constitute Daura senatorial district.
Sani Abu Daura further stated that the purpose of their visit to the former president was to hint him on the successes recorded by staging the competition , since its inception, claiming that the tournament has helped reduce social problems in the area of youths’ involvement in drug misuse, theft, thuggery, and other social vices.
He then applauded Muhammadu Buhari for his financial and moral assistance towards ensuring the serial hosting of the tournament, from the period of its commencement till date.
At the occasion, Buhari was presented with the first prize trophy, medals, and awards for the categories of best player and highest goal scorer, amongst other prizes.
