WAFU B Final : Burkina Faso humiliates Nigeria 4-1
The Flying Eagles, Sunday night were hammered 4-1 by the Junior Stallion of Burkina Faso in the final of the WAFU B U-20 championship played in Cite Di’Ivoire,
The Burkinabes U-20 side have pocketed the sole qualification to the 2027 U-20 African Cup of Nation that would be in Ghana.
Flying Eagles gaffer, Abdul Maikaba blamed his lads for what he described as tactical mistakes , saying this was responsible for the humiliation suffered by his side.
Maikaba said “We lost the game in the first 10 minutes conceding three goals,”.
Nigeria has now missed out from the U-20 AFCON, which serves as qualifiers for the 2027 U-20 World Cup ,which will be co-hosted by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
