Nigeria’s First Appearance At Flag Football World Championship in Germany Failed
Nigeria’s dreams to be on parade at the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championship has ended in tatters , after the country’s national team pulled out of the men’s and women’s events slated to be held in Düsseldorf in Germany.
The Nigerian delegation were unable to secure the required travelling visa leading to the decision to withdraw from the competition scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf from August 13 to 16, 2026.
.In an statement jointly issued by International Federation of American Football (IFAF), Nigeria’s National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigeria Federation of American Football (NFAF) efforts made to secure visas for the Nigerian delegation to travel to Germany proved futile.
