Kaduna to host 2nd Moses Andishu YSFON U-18 Boys Football Championship
Kaduna state would host the second edition of the Moses Andishu YSFON U-18 Boys football championship schedule to kick off in late August, organizers of the event have disclosed.
The finals of the inaugural edition of the annual football development and scouting competition won by Katsina state was held at Muritala Square football ground.
The chairman, Main Organizing Committee, MOC, Joeseph Andishu confirmed that preparations to host this year’s edition has reached advanced stages.
According to him, the state teams have been mobilized, all relevant authorities have been duly informed in line with the rules and regulations governing the administration of the game.
He said “I can confirm to you that, the 2nd edition of the Moses Andishu YSFON U-18 Boys championship will be hosted in Kaduna in August. Thie choice of August to host the championship is simply to avoid interfering with the academic activities of these young players.
“Likewise help them use their holiday month of August to boost their technical growth, discipline and forster national unity amongst our leaders of tomorrow, and to provide the platform for these boy to showcase their skills and seek ways to advance their exposure in preparations to help them to excel in their career life in the nearest future.
Andishu thanked YSFON patron Moses Andishu for providing the logistical and moral support towards the hosting of the championship saying “ it is the vision of Moses Andsihu to build a football platform for young talents to compete, not just platform but a platform that would equate with global standard practise.
“this is just the second edition, coming to host the second edition shows consistency and commitment on our part, we are also working hard to improve on the standards, our focus is to build a boys championship that will become a referral point for football scouts, international sporting press , merchandize and brand potential partners to identify with, the task is enormous, we are equal to the challenge of getting the best delivered to our children.
Speaking on how the second edition would differ from the first , he said “ this time you will not be crowned champions and it ends there, we have extracted commitments from the states that are coming , they have expressed that they are willing to work with us to move to the next stage, here I mean, both finalist would work with our team to proceed to attend major international youth football events courtesy of sponsorships from their state governments, while we provide them with the technical support.”
