Offa community congratulates Glasgow Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Rafiatu Folashade
Offa indigenes under the aegis of the Offa Descendants Union, has hailed Commonwealth weight lifting gold medalist, Rafiatu Folashade, describing her as an ambassador and hero of her indigenous community on the global stage.
The national leader of the union, Dr. Azeez Salako Muhydeen Olaniyi, said Rafiatu is an illustrious daughter from Ile Obatiwajoye compound Offa *Rafiatu Folashade Lawal, while congratulating her for achieving an exceptional feat of winning the Gold Medal for Nigeria in Weightlifting at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games
The congratulatory statement said “The Union received the news of this historic victory with great excitement. Rafiatu’s triumph is not just a personal achievement, but a proud moment for Offa, Kwara State, and the entire Federal Republic of Nigeria. She has once again placed Offa on the global map and proven that greatness can come from our community.
“Rafiatu Lawal is a shining example of discipline, determination, resilience, and excellence. Her journey from Offa to the world stage is a testament to the fact that with hard work and focus, Offa youths can attain the highest honors in any field of human endeavor.
“The Union commended her unwavering commitment, sportsmanship, and the spirit of excellence, she displayed throughout the competition. Her victory has brought immense honor, dignity, and pride to the Offa Kingdom and has rekindled hope in the hearts of many young people who now see her as a role model and source of inspiration”.
