World Taekwondo Federation Hails Nigeria
President of the World Taekwondo Master Union and World Taekwondo Federation , WTF representative, Grand Master Kim Lee, has praised the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation for its immense efforts in discovering and developing the sport in the country.
Speaking with journalists after being decorated by the federation at the National Open Trials, Grand Master Kim Lee urged stakeholders to continue to support the President and board members of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation. NTF.
“Nigeria is very important because of its large population and the number of people actively involved in sports. The country has great potential in Taekwondo, and it is important for the government and everyone to support the President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation because she is working very hard to grow and improve the sport,” he said.
Grand Master Kim Lee also expressed satisfaction with the performances displayed by the athletes, noting that Nigeria has the potential to win medals at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
“I saw many young athletes today, and I believe they are the stars of tomorrow. We are still in 2026, and the Olympics is only a few years away. With what Grand Master Tayo Popoola is doing, I believe Nigerian Taekwondo athletes will perform very well at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics,” he added.
The National Open Trials serve as a platform for selecting athletes who will represent Nigeria at the upcoming African Championship in Bamako Mali.
