NSF Road Accident Tragedy: Finally, Kano Gov’t To Give N5 Million, Plot of Land ,To Families Of Each Victim
Kano State Government has approved the release of financial support and related welfare interventions to the families of the 22 deceased athletes and officials who lost their lives in the tragic incident of 31st May 2025.
The deceased were part of the Team Kano contingent to the last edition of the National Sports Festival hosted in Abeokuta, Ogun state, who lost their lives on their way back to the ancient city.
Special Adviser to Kano state government on youths and sports, Sani Musa Danja revealed that the support measures have been approved.
He said ‘”₦5,000,000 has been approved for each of the 22 bereaved families.₦2,000,000 has also been approved for each of the wounded victims
Danja added that “A plot of land will be allocated to each affected family
Noting that “this compassionate intervention further demonstrates the commitment of His Excellency towards the welfare of citizens and the continuous support of the youth and sporting community in Kano State.
He emphasized that the Government reiterates its solidarity with the families of the deceased and prays for the peaceful repose of the departed souls, while wishing the injured victims speedy and full recovery.
