Super Eagles Mascot , Árábàmbi Suspended Over Alleged Assault
The renown Super Eagles mascot , Ahmed Alabi Árábàmbi has been suspended by Kwara state Football Association.
The mascot incurred the wrath of the state FA, owing to acts of misconduct carried out , during the First Lady Pre-Season Championship in Kwara.
The Chairman of the state FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya had denounced the acts of the mascot, which he described s unacceptable.
Media sources reported that , Árábàmbi’s had misbehaved in the presence of the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, during one of the matches played last , Thursday, April 16, 2026.
It is alleged that Árábàmbi had allegedly assaulted another mascot resulting into the breach of established matchday protocols, resulting to his suspension.
“This association will not condone any act that brings the game into disrepute or undermines constituted authority, regardless of who is involved,” the state FA Chairman stated.
Owu sports reports that , “the suspension of Árábàmbi, according to the FA, will remain in effect pending further review, as the association continues its commitment to discipline, order, and the growth of football in Kwara State.”
