Organizers of the reform Nigerian football protest march , request for police protection

Ahead of the planned reform Nigeria football protest in Abuja, the organizers of the event have asked the Nigerian police to provide them with protection
The organizers disclosed that the reform Nigeria football protest is slated for Thursday April 24th, 2026 in FCT Abuja , stating that they were requesting the Police authorities to avail them with special police protection.
The protesters under the aegis of Reform Our Football, in a letter dated 21st April, addressed to the commissioner of police, FCT police Command, disclosed that the protesters were an coalition of football stakeholders, football lovers and football supporters.
Adding that the motive behind the planned protest is to press home their demands for an sweep reforms in the administration of the game of football in Nigeria.
The letter , a copy obtained by our correspondent , revealed that the aggrieved football stakeholders intend to stage the protest to express their misgivings over the alleged maladministration and poor planning , couple with the lack of transparency in the governing of the affairs of the Nigeria Football Federation.
The group disclosed that the protesters would converge at the Velodrome, MKO Abiola stadium, by 9 am from whence they would march through an peaceful procession to the Nigeria football federation, secretariat located at the Package B section of the MKO Abiloa stadium.
