Nigeria: Football Reform Group Drags FIFA, NFF to Court
The Advocacy for Nigeria Football Reform Concepts has dragged the world football governing FIFA before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, in the Abuja Judicial division.
According to court records, in Suit No: M/4462/2062, the claimants are praying the court for 12 reliefs bordering on the FIFA Forward Development Project fund.
The claimants are also seeking the court to make pronouncements on funds connected to FIFA World Cup monies , and other grants handed to Nigeria through the Nigeria Football Federation.
The court documents obtained by our correspondent stated that the defendants before the court are , Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Limited domicile in Yenegoa, Bayelsa state.
The plaintiff told the court that the defendants were allegedly involved in the complicities bordering on the misappropriation and embezzlement of football funds , since 2014.
The matter has been assigned to FCT High court no 60 sitting in Jabi.
The court had ordered the defendants to within 30 days of service to cause for an appearance to be entered on their behalf .
The court cautioned the defendants , that failure to cause for appearances to be entered on their behalf, the court would proceed with the matter in accordance with the court procedural provisions
The matter is listed to be fixed for hearing.
