SWAN Ogun Chapter Immortalize Late Hakeem Akintunde
Sports journalists under the aegis of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun state chapter has announced the immortalizing its former Chairman, late Hakeem Akintunde.
The state chapter disclosed that it is organizing b an annual memorial lecture in honour of the deceased sports writer.
The body said the lecture is in recognition of his contributions to his enviable role in the progress of the association at the state and national levels.
Adding that the annual event would be held on every February 27, which is his posthumous birthday.
The chairman , SWAN Ogun state chapter, comrade Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, said “the event would be used to celebrate his life, professional excellence, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of sports reporting and administration.
Adding that “Hakeem Akintunde, who served meritoriously as Chairman of SWAN between 2017 – 2023, was widely respected for his leadership, integrity, and passion for grassroots sports development.
