Renewed Hope cup maiden edition gets kick off date
The inaugural edition of the Renewed Hope football competition would kick off in the second quarter of 2026 , our correspondent has gathered.
The director of the tournament, Mansur Abdullahi , speaking on behalf of the tournament consulting firm, Grassroot Sports and Marketing Limited, disclosed that teams from 26 States and the Federal Capital Territory have expressed their interest to take part in the event.
According to him, the organizers have rolled out terms and conditions that must be fulfilled by the participating teams before they could be admitted as the representatives of their various State.
He said “Nigerian youths will soon have another great opportunity to participate in a unique Football Tournament to be known as the Renewed Hope Cup.
He further said “ the competition is being organized by Grassroot Sports and Marketing Limited in partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative office in the Federal Capital Territory.
Mansur stated that “ this effort is aimed at further popularizing the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, President, Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adding that “The Renewed Hope Cup is a project designed for the Renewed Hope Initiative FCT , coordinated by Honourable Abdullahi Adamu Candido , but the project will have a National coverage and participation by Youths from the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“The tournament is planned to create empowerment opportunities for the Nigerian youths and others. Details are expected to be released in due course.” Mansur concluded .
