Barau FC Coach, Eugene Agagbe Assaults Freedom Radio Sports Reporter in Kano

The chief coach of Barau football club, Eugene Agagbe , on Saturday evening at Sani Abacha stadium launched an alleged verbal assault on Freedom radio reporter ,Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada.
The ugly incidence occurred , during the post match press conference of the NPFL Match Day 26 clash between Barau FC and Kum Khalifa fc.
The game ended 1-0 in favor of Barau fc.
The post match visuals obtained by Sahel Sports News revealed that the coach fume over post match questions that was poised to him by the reporter.
The visibly furious coach, when asked by the reporter to explain the reason behind the consistent wasting of clear goal scoring chances by his players, Agagbe became agitated, he termed the question as provocative and vexatious .
The reporter appealed to him to understand the question, explaining that the question is centre on Barau FC failing to convert glaring goal mouth chances, Agagbe flared up in anger saying to the reporter “ you are a fool”.
The visuals from the scene of the incidence disclosed that the angered coach in his response to the question said “ what do you know about technical lapses.
He further said “ it is your opinion, stop using such words, most of the times, the question asked are not supposed to be asked.
When asked to restrain his anger, he said “ I cannot cool down, when you are asking me question, you behave as if Barau FC is not your team, you don’t ask me questions like that .
In his words, Agagbe said “ I will stop answering your question, if you are the only person to send questions to me, I will stop.
The coach who at this stage had rise from his seat, said “ what kind of question is that, I will stop coming here.
“A team has won its match, got the three points and you are talking of technical lapses.”
“I came here before the second stanza of the season, you are a fool”. Agagbe said.
Efforts by sports writers, back room staff and other officials in attendance restrained the angry coach from his attempted physical attack launched on the reporter.
Aminu has filed a petition to the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Kano chapter against the alleged verbal attack on him by the coach.
In the formal complaint , the reporter accused coach Agagbe of acting in an manner that he has described as Agagbe’s unprofessional and habitual unruly manners, during Barau FC, post match press conferences.
SWAN Kano chapter is yet to officially comment on the matter.
Barau FC is yet to respond to the incidence, which is gaining prominence across social media platforms , wherein the coach was sighted ranting with rage over the question passed to him , during the NPFL post match session.
