Gambia football federation receives FIFA Amateur Football Country Report
The Gambia Football Federation ,GFF has received its FIFA Amateur Football Country Report .
The public presentation was held at the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum, The Gambia.
The GFF President , who chair’s the FIFA Amateur and Grassroots Football Committee,Lamin Kaba Bajo, officially presided over the presentation exercise .
The report was handed over by the FIFA Regional Technical Consultants, Mr. Ali Mwebe (Uganda) and Mr. Serame Letsoaka (South Africa).
Our correspondent reports that the document represents the culmination of an intensive diagnostic process that began in 2022, fueled by rigorous data collection spearheaded by the GFF’s Youth and Grassroots Football Unit, where they engaged all the actors in the domestic game.
Receiving the report, on the behalf of GFF, Bajo expressed profound gratitude to FIFA for its unwavering technical support and partnership.
Bajo underscored the strategic importance of the findings, noting that amateur football serves as the pulse of the nation’s sporting ambitions.
He said “Amateur football is the very foundation of my committee’s work and the bedrock upon which the future of Gambian football is built,”
He further said “This report provides us with the empirical evidence and the roadmap necessary to professionalize our structures, nurture talent from the grassroots up, and ensure sustainable growth across all regions of the country.”
