Berlin to host FIBA women’ s basketball world cup 2026

The city of Berlin, Germany would play host to the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
The 2026 would be the 20th edition of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
16 teams would be on parade at the quadrennial world championship.
The tournament will be hosted in Berlin, Germany, from 4 to 13 September 2026.
Germany hosted the event last in 1998 .
The 2026 edition goes to records with four teams more than the previous edition.
Though the 1990 and 2018 hosted same number of teams
The host country automatically qualify as host.
The teams that would be featuring would be decided through an mixture of continental champions and the teams that had progress from the qualifying tournaments.
In September 2026, Berlin will host the event under the motto “Time for her Game”.
The tournament is targeted to emphasize on female empowerment, equality and diversity.
The matches will be played at the Uber Arena and the Max-Schmeling-Halle.
