DCC 27 dispute : Kano sports commission ask Kano High Court to transfer case to Kano FA
Kano state Sports Commission, KSSC has asked the state High court No 3 sitting at Miller road to transfer the matter between Tanko Warriors football club and Aguluzigbo football club to the state football association for settlement.
The commission in a letter dated 24th September 2025, the acting chairman of the commission, Ibrahim Umar Yakubu had urged the court been presided by justice Musa Ahmad to transfer the case to the state FA.
He prayed the court that the request is made to pave way for the dispute to be resolved in line with the provisions of the rules and regulations governing football activities in the state.
According to the request letter , the suit No K/797/2025 that is before the court had arisen from DCC 27 competition football match involving the parties before he court,
Stating that the match was played on 5th September 2025 at Government Commercial Secondary school along Airport road Kano.
Ibrahim told the court that , according to reports gathered after discreet investigations into the matter, it is revealed that the fans of Aguluzuigbo were alleged to have been indulged in misconducts, saying their actions called for the deduction of their three points .
He further informed the court that, the parties had appeared before football regulatory organs and were given fair hearing before sanctions were imposed on Aguluzuigbo in line with the rules governing the DCC 27 annual football competition.
“we request the court to refer the matter to Kano state Football Association, KSFA, to handle the case in line with the rules and regulations governing the football association.” Ibrahim stated.
Our correspondent gathered that, Aguluzuigbo displeased with the outcome of their match against Tanko Warriors had to drag the respondents to court to pursue redress .
The commission then opted to wade into the matter and resorted to formally request the court to transfer the matter to the state FA.
