Nigeria’s weight lifting boss, Ibrahim, Iquaibom becomes chairman IWF Gender Equity Commission
The President, Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Dr Abdul Ibrahim Aladi has been elected as the Chairman of the Gender Equity Commission of the International Weightlifting Federation.
He was elected at the end of the IWF Electoral Congress held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last Sunday.
Ibrahim garnered 122 votes to beat the five other elected officials of the Gender Equity Commission .
Reacting, NWF media quoted Ibrahim saying that “I am deeply delighted with my election into the Gender Equity Commission and that of Lawrence Iquaibom into the Coaching and Research Committee. This is for Nigeria Weightlifting Federation and we are thrilled this is happening now.
“We shall continue to contribute our quota to the development of the sport in Nigeria and beyond. I am happy we fought the battle and won for Nigeria.”
