Special Edition for Methodist High School Owo , MHSO @ 60 . As Lady Bosede Adebayo rekindles sports hopes
When Nigeria’s State Chief Executives are openly begging Old Students of schools to help out in rebuilding moribund schools and those that are not dead yet, an individual is making a statement of hope and commitment for sports revival in her old school as the school marks 60 years of mixed noises of joy , some measure of relief in sports and complaints about the school’s lack of holistic growth over the years.
Hope is rekindled with Lady Bosede Adebayo, who has taken bold steps to keep the school kicking in at least the area of sports for boys and girls where huge untapped talents rock and begging to be tapped.
As a renowned humanitarian and lady who has built boreholes for her local community, making water available for use at all times , she has led other committed old students of Methodist High School, Owo ( MHSO) to plough back to MHSO in more than sporting space.
Not even football, all her calls are yielding results, and results with wide exploratory horizons.
Her efforts to provide aid, support, and empowerment to those in need have inspired countless individuals and organizations to follow her footsteps at a time governments seem to have abandoned schools.
Cerutti Humanitarian World, says this about her weeks ago, “your renewed strength, vitality, and inspiration to continue your work ….is a shining testament to the transformative power of kindness, compassion, and generosity you show in all areas, including grassroots sports development in your beloved alma mater”
I salute you.
… And Also challenge you with honor, and respect to challenge all our girls of MHSO to emulate, surpass you to give back to MHSO, activating your polished contacts and ambassadorial glides without compromising your standards as an accomplished educator!
Ça va bien.
I greet you.
This salutation is necessary given that one doesn’t see students who only spend a short time in a school, and get committed to helping the school when in a chaotic space , and spiraling of the grid of resources and development.
But, you stand out the to be part of , and lead a collective rescue squad for MHSO , via sports within a short time, and the results are envious to non committed folks about the need to reach out to one’s old school.
Lady Bose Adebayo’s true leadership is all about, being not only a protagonist but the architect of
actions , and a central figure in MHSO’s complex firmament of sports judgment where students are now empowered and encouraged beyond academics , and tireless efforts to develop our failing great school . We hope that all the hope raised by your leadership and grassroots support for the girls and all other students in sports will not be dashed by all the powers that be in our school, still called Methodist High School, Owo- MHSO.
Old students recognize and marvel at your unwavering commitment to public service and dedication to the welfare of our MHSO students . Your vision, wisdom, and guidance have been instrumental in re – shaping the future of our school and the students lining up behind others who are grateful for your selfless service.
Under your able leadership, our school has made significant strides in sports, including powering some students to play in YSFON 25 in Bauchi without recourse to MHSO , and MHSO keeps resonating perpetually.
Despite encumbrances, your efforts , unity, stability, and focus for the sports committee have been topnotch. Your effective leadership style is around this mantra : to be a champion, you must fight like a challenger, and the students seem poised to carry that mantra now from all that can be seen.
Hear these :
“In less than 6 months she has creditably led a team of sports lovers in a sports Committee to turn around the frigid and fragile moments of MHSO Sports into a much result oriented and game winning school again. Although, she says she is not a sports administrator, don’t let that fool you- her network of contacts reduces some of my pent up brag about being a sports administrator- she talks freely about getting results and outcomes, hot on marketing and sponsorship, tough on financial accountability and full of grace as a human magnet.
An ambassador of MHSO and a community leader who has nearly singlehandedly reviewed a thick forest called a field, into a manageable pitch fit now for further development and sight seeing”
The dance goes on. “An activist who gives hope to folks for them to have at least a purpose, and not like those leaders who lack fundamental decency and decorum.
A fire brand that doesn’t lose steam in the face of opposition, and a fearless leader who doesn’t care about whose ox is gored !
Bose is not an opportunist looking to feed on what MHSO doesn’t have or have .
She is always digging and engaging others to give back to MHSO! “
Lady Adebayo’s story is one of resilience, brilliance, and a deep sense of purpose. “Though your time at Methodist High School, Owo, spanned only shortwhile, your influence and contributions to the development of our beloved school far surpass what most achieved in a lifetime. It is a rare gift to encounter someone who embodies such a perfect balance of intellect, beauty, —a beacon of inspiration to us all.
As a proud member of the MHSO’s 1978 set, you have carried the values instilled in you by our school with unmatched dedication and passion. Your accomplishments as an alumnus have brought immense pride to the MHSO community, but it is your commitment to giving back that truly sets you apart. You remind us that greatness is not just measured by personal success but by the positive impact we make on the lives of others.
Your work as Chairperson of the MHSO Sports Committee is nothing short of extraordinary. Under your leadership, the committee has blossomed into a vibrant force for change, fostering excellence in sports and promoting a culture of teamwork and discipline among students. For the first time in the history of our great alma mater, Methodist High School, Owo, is proudly representing Ondo State in the prestigious 2025 Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) tournament. This incredible feat, achieved through the talents of Wasiu, Majid, and Eniola—three boys discovered by the hardworking Sports Committee you head—stands as an unbroken record and a testament to your visionary leadership.
Your tireless efforts to position Methodist High School, Owo, as a beacon of hope in both academics and athletics within Ondo State and beyond, reflect a rare and admirable level of commitment. You have not only elevated the status of the school but also ignited a sense of pride in all of us who call ourselves MHSO alumni.
Your accomplishments are a testament to your unyielding determination, strategic mind, and generous heart. With your beautiful face and brilliant mind, you have shown us that true leadership is as much about strength as it is about empathy and understanding.
Your vision and guidance have not only inspired us but have also created a legacy that will endure for generations. We are honored to have you as our leader and deeply appreciative of the countless hours, resources, and energy you have devoted to the betterment of our beloved school, and your life is a testament to the power of purpose, and your legacy is an inspiration to all who follow in your footsteps in , touching lives and transforming communities, just as you have done for Methodist High School, Owo.
With heartfelt admiration”.
The Chairperson is never engulfed in a a circle of pride despite her huge achievements within a short time as head of MHSO Sports!
With immensity of the sports horizons worldwide, she is poised to take MHSO to a different level , likely deeper than what Chief JF Ayeleso would have bargained for .
