38 Teams will spike for glory . As 6th Edition of the President’s Beach Volleyball Serves Off in Kaduna
An unprecedented number of 38 Teams have registered their presence as the sixth edition of President Beach Volleyball Tournament Served off in Kaduna on Tuesday February 17, 2025.
The teams featuring in senior and U-17 male and female categories, came in from all parts of Nigeria in the highly competitive tournament, which will boost Nigeria’s chances ahead of the continental piece coming up later this year.
The teams arrived Kaduna on February 16, ahead of the technical session held on 17th at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, before heading out to the beach courts of the Murtala Mohammed Square multipurpose sports complex for the serving office of the tournament same day.
In an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of the colourful opening ceremony, Technical Director of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Mr. Martin Melandi was excited that the number of teams at this edition swelled.
He said that the top three teams of all the categories will be going home with cash prizes for their efforts.
Melandi said that it was initially planned to last longer, but would be ending on Friday to allow players representing their various states in the National Sports Festival (NSF), Zonal Eliminations time to travel back to their stations.
Also speaking, the DCP Stephen Hasso (Rtd) said that he is impressed by the quality of players at this edition.
He said that the President Beach Volleyball Tournament has over the years, developed talents for the country.
Hasso who is also a board member of the NVBF, also explained that just recently in Human Adamawa State, a beach Volleyball open was held, which attracted several dignitaries, including the Paramount Ruler of Bachama.
The sixth edition of the President Beach Volleyball, will be ending on Friday.
