NPFL slam Nassarawa United with N 3million fine , for breaching league rules
Nigeria’s premier league side, Nasarawa Utd have been sanctioned for breaching the NPFL Framework and Rules.
The league said the punishment arouse due to the clubs infringement on the rules during their MD 18 fixture against Rivers Utd on December 22, 2024., noting that NPFL25 rules was breached following an encroachment into the field of play in the course of the match.
The league organizer in its verdict said the club supporters had assaulted the centre referee one Musibaudeen Ibrahim.
NPFL have ruled that Nassarawa United should pay N3 million, being N1 million each for encroachment unto the pitch, failure to ensure proper conduct of their team & supporters & failure to provide adequate & effective security.
“3 points & 3 goals shall be deducted from Nasarawa Utd’s accrued points & goals for the assault on centre referee Musibaudeen Ibrahim.”
