NNL: Barau football club head coach, Salisu Yusuf has been suspended, Rabiu Tata takes over
Nigerian National League, NNL debutants, Barau football club has suspended their gaffer, Salisu Yusuf.
The club in a media statement issued by the club’s Media Officer, Hamisu Nakowa Gwale, Wednesday said the decision to hang the fate of the former Super Eagles chief coach on the balance was reached at the end of a management meeting held in Kano.
The NNL debutants have showed strings of poor runs since the commencement of the league season.
Nakowa who fell short of announcing the departure or the disengagement of the coach, said the club management thanked Salisu Yusuf for his commitment and dedication, during the period he held sway at the club.
According to him, former Jigawa Stars and Kebbi United coach, Rabiu Tata has been directed to charge of technical affairs at the club.
In his words “The management of Barau Football Club has suspended Salisu Yusuf as Technical Adviser, effective immediately.
“This decision was made following a meeting, where the management appreciate his efforts during his tenure, particularly in the Nigerian National League (NNL) 2024/2025.
“Consequently, Chief Coach Rabi’u Tata will assume the role of interim Technical Adviser, with his assistant supporting the team’s activities.” Nakowa stated.
Rabiu would be expected to turn around the poor fortunes of the club.
