When a man comes home from the farm with firewood full of ants, he must be prepared for the gyration of the lizards . 

This is what the current narrative about the NFF is looking like, and there is no better time to larch on it than now as Nigerians ask vociferously what Nigeria can do for Nigerians, not in the sports space alone . 

Confusion everywhere! Hunger making center not hold again and sports falling into pieces and tongues are still wagging. 

One minute it is good news, the next meeting sorrow in our football. 

How does anyone explain that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are waxed at home by Rwanda. Yes, Rwanda – I am sure a public holiday will be declared for Bees stinging the Mighty and big for nothing Eagles. 

The picture of NFF today is not a good tapestry of home and commitment if truth be told . It has been a window to the world via football without a shaking performance. 

There will be time to blast on the place as a cesspool of lies and corruption. 

Just hang with me more .

Why these reoccurring issues. Come along with to see these issues clearly. I am not here to praise anyone , but do a steady drum beat to make changes – reform , not revenge!

Lately it is praise galore, no questions asked by those billed to ask . 

Guess why? Not far fetched whallai.  

By praising the men at football house on football development, one wonders about the scope of development, and in what areas when all the posers raised above are all clear, and consistent, yet with no clear solutions to good outcomes- teams beating us home and away. 

Let us take a look at these posers , and let Nigerian decide! 

Is the NFF really sincere with football development? My answer is “no”. 

If so, what will anyone say about inviting foreign players for U17 tournament? What happens to the huge talents in the various academies, schools and other grass root  football groups . 

My old School- Methodist High School, Owo where some players are camped and studying as the head out for a tournament , and could as well be taken overseas to become a Messi or Rolando, Dr Odegbami , Dr Felix Owolabi , Baba Emmanuel Okala , and Chairman Christian Chukwu . All nearly from the power of school sports and academics! 

Thanks to the chairperson of the school’s committee for making good decisions and looking for legitimate funds with her team not minding whose is gored to keep sports going. 

“NFF can’t do this.Only to chop money dem dey“ says a local football analyst. 

For most watchers it was predictably a disappointing result for the Super  Eagles of Nigeria today ( Nov 14th, 2024) in CIV despite qualifying for Afcon 2025 in Morocco. 

A respectable football guru said he was not interested when asked by Sports Parliament if he was up to calling the match before kick-off . 

The erudite football scholar insisted that “as long the NFF focuses on a contraption of men instead of building a team “, such results will also happen where most people will be on edge praying, and think of permutations. It happened when we played Rwanda last night( Nov 18, 2024 ) 

“It’s not team,  just a collection of players”, said another highly placed soccer magician who wanted that his name not be mentioned as he doesn’t want his chopped off , after the Eagles were beaten in Uyo. 

Cut the chase,  get a better coach for the Eagles folks !!! 

Another blunder for clarification is appointing coaches of league clubs to handle the Super Eagles when season is on , and their contracts still subsisting , confusing, right and who takes care of their salaries for the period of absence? 

Clueless NFF or struggling clubs at the mercy of Governors who miscue sports and don’t know jack about what they do ? 

Or appointing a serving General Manager of a club as coordinator for national U20? 

Clearly misplaced loyalty here will lead to make shift victory and getting any good results that can stand the test of time of international competition without asking for favors from the morally debased arbiters . The arbiters who will retire to the coven and eat up the head and arms of clubs and officials and masticate the heart from the liver , and ensure pyrrhic victory!

“Football is the most popular sport on the planet, and in 2025 a new era for club football will kick off when FIFA stages the greatest, most inclusive and merit-based global club competition right here in the United States,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who made the announcement at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York. 

I can say boldly with our NFF , our teams can never be part of this new global run that is a money spinner because of its insane mindset about competition, and not development.   

“The need to draw a line between competition and development can’t b overemphasized. 

The NFF focuses solely on competitions! Sad.”
