Moses Andishu/YSFON U17 boys football competition kicks off. As Kaduna vs Jigawa opener ends in 11 goals thriller
The maiden edition of the Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria. YSFON/Moses Andsihu U-17 boys north west zonal soccer tournament last Tuesday morning flagged off at the Muritala Square soccer ground in Kaduna.
YSFON affiliated teams from Jigawa, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna and Kano have arrived the former northern capital city of Kaduna to battle for glory in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
Our correspondent reports that the tournament is billed for 24 to 30th August 2025.
The country director, Freivan Support Services, UK, Joseph Andishu performed the traditional kick off ceremony.
The host lads recorded their first three points courtesy of an 6-5 scoreline win against the resilient lads from jigsaw.
Jigawa opened score in the first five minute into the game, the host side responded with an equalizer and went ahead to increase the tally to 4 -1 before the half.
On resumption of the second stanza , the never say die lads from Jigawa fought back as they launched their campaign to close the gap with spirited moves.
The game moved to 4-2 score line, the Kaduna boys pushed further away making the scores 5-2 Jigawa responded and made 5-3, Kaduna moved further way to victory with an widened 6-3 score line .
Jigawa knitted the web in attempt to close the gap by neatly striking home twice to settle for a 6-5 final defeat.
