Deputy senate president, Barau Jubrin  has made history in Nigerian football – NFF

Nigeria Football Federation , NFF has  hailed  Nigeria’s deputy senate president, senator  Barau Jubrin for his massive  investments in the construction of the new football facilities that are spread across local governments within   Kano north senatorial district.

The president of the federation, Ibrahim Gusau commended the sports accomplishments achieved by Barau ,   who he said deserves accolades for  his marshal  of the construction of new stadium facilities in  local governments that constitutes Kano north senatorial district.

Our correspondent reports that, some of the new stadium facilities have reached completion stages, while works are ongoing  in some others.

Speaking on behalf of NFF president , Monday,  at the end  of an on  site,   inspection of one of the new newly constructed stadiums  located  in Dambatta, the chairman NFF technical committee, Sheriff Rabiu Inuwa Ahlan described the new facility  as a landmark achievement.

Inuwa popularly called Ahlan, who spoke in local parlance,  said the federation is fascinated with the new development , saying   , “we are at the newly constructed stadium to inspect the facility ahead of the kick off of the new  NNL football season.

Barau fc who were newly promoted to the NNL have expressed the  desire to  execute their  NNL debut  campaign at the new facility  named Maliya stadium, which is  located in Dambatta.

He said “I am here  relying on the mandate and approval given to me by the  president of the NFF, Ibrahim Gusau, while  also it is within my purview  and  within my jurisdiction as chairman of the NFF technical committee and Kano FA chairman, to come and asses things, first hand, but I want you to be  rest assured ,  that Mr President is aware of my visit to this new facility and approved of my visit here today.

“I am also  the chairman,   Kano state Football Association, KSFA, which is the custodian of football in Kano.

“what the deputy senate president, Barau Jubrin has accomplished with the construction  of this new facility ,  is a legacy that will never be forgotten, even after his sojourn here on earth,  his name will be remembered , this achievement by the senator will remain  in our football history books and evergreen in our minds .

“we have inspected the stadium, we are satisfied with what we saw on ground and we have been assured that all our advises would be adhered to and taken seriously , like wise the assurances that our technical counsels  would be relied upon to make this project yield the desired dividends.

He further said “the construction of this new sports edifice is in line with FIFA’s position on the importance  to always further  decentralize activities  in the development of football, since,  this  is one of the cardinal  routes to true  grass root football development.

“the provision of this stadium by senator Barau to us, in the football family in Nigeria and Kano state ,  is for the good of  the game , it follows the well  spelt out  principles of football development and promotion.

“in my capacity as the chairman , Kano state Football Association, KSFA, we will work day and night to make sure this facility and others   are been  put to use in compliance with  the laid down developmental provisions in  the game, this will greatly help us ,  to achieve the set out target in line with the master plan  of football development  best practices anywhere in the world of football ”

Sheriff then urged the youths domicile  in the area to take up the ownership of the stadium  by resorting to making best use of the facility to maximize  the benefits that are associated with the location of such facility within host communities

Ahlan then appealed that  “the stadium was constructed by Barau, but in real sense,  it is your property, Dambatta youths please  make use of it to usher in a new dawn in the history of sports in Kano and Dambatta community and its environs, which already is a household name in Kano football, that you have built for your area, before this recent positive development, be rest assured that NFF and KSFA  will work and support you at all times to  enjoy the best of  what football has to offer.”
