Father O’Connell, GSS Karu emerge winners MILO 2025 boys and girls national inter secondary schools basketball championship

Father O’Connell Science College, Niger State have been crowned as the winners of the 2025 edition of the Milo basketball championship, boys event .
Government Secondary School, Karu (FCT), have also emerged as the champions of the girls event.
In the boys’ final played at the National Stadium Indoor Sports Hall, Surulere, Lagos, Father O’Connell defeated Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Bayelsa State, 66–64 in a dramatic overtime finish.
The Niger lads had fought back from a halftime deficit to secure their first ever national title with a clutch free throw by Isaiah John in the closing seconds of extra time.
According to impeccable media sources , Levi Samuel of Father O’Connell was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the boys’ tournament.
Government Secondary School, Karu, beat Lanreleke Sports Academy, Ilenikhena-Ogbo, Osun State, 55–42 to claim the girls title, Karu dominated the clash from start to finish, led by their standout player Victoria Dike, who clinched the MVP award.
The champions carted home the sum of ₦3 million in prize money. The runners-up earned ₦2 million each, while the third-place teams took home ₦1.5 million .
