Ekiti Referees Council members Cry out for help over incessant financial burden
Members of the Nigeria Football Referees Association , NFRA , Ekiti Council have passionately appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation, Nigeria Football Referees Association and critical stakeholders to come to their rescue over incessant financial request from the leadership of the Ekiti state Council.
The members who reached out to our source have alleged that the sum of Fourteen Thousand Naira(#14,000.00) was collected from each candidate as prerequisite registration fees for the year 2025 NFRA Examination. According to the release, it reads:
“Onilearo Kayode / Ekiti Referees’ Council at it Again”
“Once again, Onilearo Kayode has launched his campaign of examination malpractice by forcefully demanding ₦1,000 from referees preparing for the forthcoming NFRA examination after the payment of prerequisites registration fees of #14,000 paid for this year 2025 NFRA examination.”
Shockingly, this directive was circulated to all referees sitting for this year’s examination through the council’s official WhatsApp platform.
“Such a barbaric and shameful act continues to erode the integrity and credibility of young referees in Ekiti State.”
“We, the referees sitting for the NFRA examination this year, categorically say NO to this act of extortion and firmly reject any attempt to lure innocent young referees into examination malpractice.”
