Sensational sprinter, Favour Ofili dumps Nigeria for Turkey
Nigeria’s star sprinter Favour Ofili, has commenced moves to switch her nationality from Nigerian to Turkish.
The 22-year-old athlete in reaching the decision to dump Nigeria cited her controversial omission from the 100m event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The disappointed athlete said Nigerian sports officials had also cost her the chance to represent the country at Tokyo 2020 Olympics, even when she had fulfilled all required criteria to represent the country.
It is alleged that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN and Nigeria Olympic Committee , NOC made her failed to compete in the 100m in Paris 2024, AFN & the Nigerian NOC failed to enter her name, in 2021, Ofili had missed the Tokyo Olympics 200m after AFN & NADC failed to get her tested in time, affecting 13 other athletes.
Ofili had continually expressed her been frustrated from representing Nigeria .
