The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last Friday announced that its forth coming 2025/26 season will kick off on August 22, 2025 to end May 22, 2026.
Remo Stars on MD 35 were crowned NPFL champions with three matches left to end the season.
The total of 380 NPFL matches were played recording 286 wins, 94 draws, 784 goals were scored.
Also recorded were 244 home wins, 42 away wins , 552 goals scored during home matches, while 232 goals were scored by clubs on the road , 60 goals were from spot kicks.
The league recorded 16 spot kick misses , bringing total penalties awarded to 76. 13 own goals were scored and four hat tricks were recorded .
1380 yellow cards were issued , 56 expulsion were recorded NPFL sources said .
Nasarawa United’s Yusuf Anas made home with the highest crowned goal scorer crown netting 18 goals trailed by league by veteran Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillarson 13 goals, while Anthony Ijoma of Abia Warriors followed with 12 goals.
NPFL claimed that 188 games were aired on Startimes , adding that Propel Sports Africa streamed 200 fixtures through the OTT viewing platforms.
