Former Nigerian int’l footballer, Segun George Hunkarin arrested for alleged involvement in cocaine smuggling

Officers attached to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended an ex-international footballer , Segun George Hunkarin, over his alleged involvement in cocaine smuggling.
The NDLEA Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, last Sunday in a statement issued stated that investigations into the matter had revealed that , one Mr Chinedu was suspected to had travelled from Turkey aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight , while on transit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he allegedly collected the exhibits from an yet to be identified person before proceeding to Nigeria with the exhibits .
NDLEA alleged further that the former professional football player , Segun Hunkarin, was at the airport car park waiting for Chinedu to deliver the suspected items to him, Hunkarin was tracked and arrested at the airport car park.
NDLEA said that , Hunkarin in his confessional statement had said that , in his days , while playing as a professional footballer in South America , he was allegedly involved in illicit drug trafficking trade from South America to Ethiopia.
