Tinubu appoints former Edo deputy governor, Philip Shuaibu as DG NIS
The former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu has been appointed the Director General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Nigeria’s largest sports learning and research institution.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR on Saturday named Shaibu as the new chief executive of NIS to succeed Professor Olawale Moronkola .
The appointment is with immediate effect.
The National Institute for Sports was established in 1974 as a research and training institute, with the mandate to produce top-notch coaches, sports scientists and sports managers, and for the purpose of conducting research, all with the objective of improving Nigeria’s performance in sports internationally.
