Nigeria to host 3rdb biennial African Athletics Junior Championship
Nigeria has commenced preparations towards its hosting of the Arican U18/U20 African junior Athletics championship.
The country’s National Sports Commission, NSC, has constituted an Local Organising Committee, LOC to steer the event .
The African junior Athletics U18/20 Championship is scheduled to hold from 16-20 of July 2025, in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, north west Nigeria.
Over 500 junior athletes from 53 African countries are expected to feature at the championship.
Our correspondent reports that , Nigeria have constituted an 15 man LOC with members drawn from various sectors .
The Director General , National Sports Commission, NSC, Bukola Olopade would serve as the Chairman of the Committee, Ogun state Commissioner of Sports ,Wasiu Isiaka would serve as his Vice .
Other members of the committee are , Osaze Ubueze representing Corporate Nigeria , Rosa Collins Member , Gadzama Tafiga. Member , Maria Wophil Member , Chichi Nwoko Member and Nnefiok Udo-Ubong Member .
